I want to start off by saying that I had been SO looking forward to Amy and Jon’s wedding since the first time I talked to them on the phone months ago!!! They are such a loving and caring couple to be around, and I knew their wedding day wouldn’t be anything less! Their wedding took place in the city, and this was my first time photographing a city wedding! AH! I was very excited! They had planned an intimate, art-deco themed wedding at Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia, and I had never seen a theme like this before! 95 of their best friends and family were there to celebrate, as well!
Amy and Jon are HUGE cat lovers like me! When I talked to Amy a couple days before her wedding she shared with me that her and Jon were bringing stuffed animal avatars of their two kitties, Betsy and Fiona! Also, I didn’t realize that Hotel Monaco was pet friendly!! While Amy was getting ready her sister, Jodi, brought her cat, Lilah, into the room! I couldn’t believe there was a real cat at the wedding!! I think this should be a new thing! After the excitement of there being a real cat at a wedding (I know I couldn’t stop talking about what just happened!), Amy and Jon had their first look on the rooftop of the Hotel! It was so sweet!! Every part of the hotel matched their art-deco theme perfectly!
The weather was calling for downpours all day long but it cleared up just in time for their portraits! We were able to walk around the historic areas of the city that were located right outside the hotel. It ended up being such a gorgeous day! Following their portraits they got ready for their beautiful Jewish ceremony, which was such a reflection of their relationship! They also included their family in the ceremony, as well!!
Then they were finally introduced into the reception as husband and wife! They kicked off the night with a choreographed first dance, which I believe they did such an amazing job! Following their first dance they went right into the Hora and it was SO much fun!! This was my first time experiencing the Hora, and I ended up in the middle of the circle! Which is the best place to be during the dance! The rest of the night was full of dancing, celebration, and so many memories. Amy and Jon were beyond grateful to everyone who made their day so special, and I’m thrilled that I could be a part of every moment!!
Amy and Jon, I’m so glad that you made it home safely to your kitties! 🙂 Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Lozano!!
