When Cassie had shared with me that her and Dave wanted their engagement session to take place at the exact location where their story began, my heart absolutely melted! The University of Scranton is so, so special to the two of them because this is where they met!! Cassie shared with me that she worked in the mail room at the university throughout college. Before her and Dave started dating, Dave would come to the mail room frequently, regardless if he had any mail, just so he could see Cassie!! So sweet!?! But this isn’t how they met – you’ll have to read more about that below! 😀

Their engagement session took place at the PERFECT time! The weather was absolutely wonderful, and the campus was completely empty! We had the whole place to ourselves! Cassie even brought along a gold glittered cut-out banner with their wedding date, in addition to a “Mr. and Mrs.” sign that was made by her aunt! They thought of everything!

Can we talk about the amazing outfits that they picked out for their e-session?!?!?! While Dave and Cassie were changing into their next outfit, I was taking detail shots of Cassie’s engagement ring! When they returned, I couldn’t believe how gorgeous and AWESOME their second outfits were! “Bride” and “Groom” tops?! A tulle skirt?! ANNNDDD golden hour was starting to show-off! Let’s just say, this photographer was jumping for joy inside!

I know I always say this, but I had SO much fun with these two! They are incredibly sweet and so in love! I cannot wait for their wedding next year!!

As Told By The Bride-to-Be

How They Met

“As all college love stories begin, Dave and I met in a random backyard at a party haha :). My friends had actually met him and his friends the night before. His friend and he were wearing these “Wing Man” shirts, and the next day all I heard about was how they met these really funny guys with the “wing man” shirts and that we were meeting up with them that night. Really glad I decided to go to that party!”

The Proposal

” “I’m thinking blue, it’ll go with my eyes.”

It was Tuesday evening and Dave and I were getting ready to head to my hometown in Pennsylvania. My mom took to our family group chat that Sunday to inform us what she wanted for Christmas that year: a family photo. We were specifically instructed to cancel all plans for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving as a highly qualified photographer would be coming over to take family photos in our backyard (Aka my neighbor with a nice camera). Naturally the conversation thereafter centered around what our “color theme” theme would be. My sister, Tara suggested burgundy, while my other sister, Elaina vetted for grey. Dave, packing his bag, suggested blue as it would compliment his eyes.

“I don’t know if you’re getting in the picture,” I said. “My mom wants a family photo and I mean…” With a deadly side-eye, Dave replied “I’m getting in one.”

With our blue’s, grey’s and burgundy’s packed, we headed to PA.

Upon arriving, it had been decided that the girls would wear burgundy and the boys would wear blue. And with that, the photo shoot commenced!

First, the girls went. Next, one with just the boys. Then, a picture with both the girls and the boys.

“Cass, let’s get a picture!” Dave shouted. “Hold on” I replied as my sisters and I were planning our next pose. “Cass, come on!” Dave insisted again. As I began to walk toward him, Dave was fidgeting with his phone.”You insisted on a picture and now you’re texting?” I thought.

“What? What’s that?” Dave said. “Is that my phone?” Then, I heard it. The song I had only dreamed of hearing.

“Forever can never be long enough for me…”

I told Dave that ever since I heard “Marry Me” by Train, I wanted that song played when someone proposed to me. And right there, in my backyard with my family surrounding us, “Marry Me” by Train was playing.

I looked at him in disbelief. He pulled out a little box from his pocket, got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of his life with him.

Looks like he got that photo he wanted after all!”
