You’ve heard the saying, “you know when you meet someone and you feel like you’ve known them your entire life?” Well, that’s exactly how I felt during Christina and Chris’ entire engagement session! These two are so passionate about people and living life to the fullest, and I definitely got to see that firsthand! They made me (the photographer!) feel like we were old friends catching up! That is literally what I always hope for when I meet my couples in person for the first time, and I absolutely loved our time together!
These two are getting married at The Barn at Silverstone this spring, so we were looking for the perfect location that would be similar to their rustic, wedding theme! Immediately, Historic Stonebrook Farm came to mind, and they loved the location so much that they drove almost 2 hours to the shoot! They are seriously the best!
Also, I was so grateful that we had THE BEST weather, too! On the east coast we’ve been having cold weather (even though it’s spring!), and I couldn’t believe that we were able to walk around without a winter coat and gloves! We really lucked out, and I was beyond happy! We had the entire farm to ourselves, and Christina and Chris were such naturals!! Christina attended a performing arts high school for dance so she was comfortable being in front of the camera, but I was convinced Chris had experience, too!
Prior to dating, the two of them first met while working at a bar on Memorial Day weekend in 2011! Christina was the head waitress and Chris was the bartender in training. Apparently, they fought the entire day! That is hard for me to believe because they are just the sweetest together! After that they were friends for years before they even started to date!
Fast forward to 2017 to the proposal! Chris proposed at sunrise at their favorite beach. He had it all planned for weeks in advance! They were sitting on the beach, and as soon as the sun began to come over the horizon he picked her up, and then got down on one knee. As soon as he said the words “Will You…” Christina began to hyperventilate. She couldn’t even get the word, “yes” out, because she couldn’t believe what was happening!
After they finally got the ring on the right finger (after placing on the wrong hand), they turned to face the boardwalk to see that Chris had planted a photographer in the dunes, and he had captured the whole entire thing! How amazing!
This part of their story made me laugh because after realizing a photographer had captured the entire proposal, they turned around to see someone sleeping on the beach, who arose to clap and proceed to hug Chris and congratulate both of them. It actually ended up being one of Chris’ high school classmates! Too funny!
After an extremely exciting morning, they enjoyed donuts, of course! Chris then asked Christina if she wanted to meet their friends up on the boardwalk to celebrate. When they arrived Chris had planned a surprise brunch with all of their friends and family!
What Christina loves most about Chris…
- His caring and loving heart. He always is thinking of others and puts them ahead of himself.
- His love & affection for life. He wants to explore, learn and experience the world. He supports my crazy ideas and adventures ( even when he knows they are going to be an epic failure!).
- His calmness in every situation. He is the ying to my yang. He is the one to bring a sense of calmness when everything is out of control.

What Chris loves most about Christina…
- She is the most supportive person I have ever met and love her for it.
- She makes me happy no matter how upset/mad/frustrated I get.
- She is the most beautiful person inside and out I have ever met and no one could ever match her.
It is clearly obvious that Christina and Chris cannot wait to be married, and to have all of their family and friends in one place celebrating together! It really will be a day I’ll always remember!!
Thank goodness that their wedding is only two months away because I cannot wait to see these two again very soon!
