Christy and Jay’s wedding was my last one for the 2018 season, and my goodness what an incredible way to end such an incredible year! Being apart of their intimate wedding was such a blessing to me! I actually go to the same church as these two, and celebrating the start of their marriage alongside our church family was so amazing!
Their wedding took place at my all time favorite venue: the stunning Historic Stonebrook Farm in Perkasie, PA! Christy actually picked out all of the details with the help of her sweet daughters! Her daughter’s selected the color theme for the wedding: fuschia! I absolutely LOVED the color because I’ve never seen it done before – it was the perfect pop of color!
Like I said above, I had known Christy and Jay from church, but I was so glad that I got to know them even more being their wedding photographer! When we’d see each other at church, it was always exciting to chat about wedding plans and to share in the excitement of the big day!
The Lord brought them together, and I’m so glad he did!! I absolutely love their proposal story, too! They went to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, M.D., where Jay graduated from. While they were there, Jay showed Christy the chapel on campus and next to pew 121 (a perfect square number – they both love math!), Jay got down on one knee and proposed! The rest of the day was spent exploring the Academy! They ended their perfect day with a dinner on the waterfront in Annapolis! How AMAZING!!
First Look
When Christy had picked her wedding dress, she sent me a picture of her dress! It was so perfect for her, and her lace train was incredibly unique (you’ll see a photo of it below!)! First of all, I was so honored that she gave me a sneak peek and secondly, I couldn’t wait to see Jay’s reaction!
I know I say this often, but first looks are my favorite! It’s such a joyful moment, and I absolutely loved Christy and Jay’s first look so much!
Ceremony
We were hoping that the ceremony would be outside, but the snow and rain we had the previous week didn’t make that happen! Thank goodness that Historic Stonebrook has such beautiful options for an indoor ceremony – it was still so beautiful!
They even had a sand pouring ceremony symbolizing the joining of two families into one!
Reception
They planned such a cozy, relaxed and fun wedding reception! There are about 30 kids and 50 adults present, so you can image that the energy levels were high! 🙂 I know that Christy and Jay wanted everyone to feel welcomed and they most certainly succeeded in doing so!
My most favorite part of their reception was their first dance! This was the moment that meant so much to them, and the smiles on their faces during the dance were priceless!
THANK YOU!
I felt so honored to be able to capture and witness the start of your marriage! I will be praying for you both as you enter into this new chapter! I just know that the Lord will use your marriage in such incredible ways!! Congratulations you two! 🙂
