< back to blog home

When Jade and Alex arrived for their engagement session, I knew that we were going to have a great time! We immediately gave each other big hugs – and their session hadn’t even begun yet! Their session took place at a park where they had one of their very first dates early on in their relationship! They also scheduled their e-session to take place during golden hour – which is my absolute favorite! Annnddd they couldn’t have asked for better fall weather!

These two compliment each other so well! All Alex had to do was simply look at Jade, and she would start smiling and laughing!! They made job super easy, for sure!

Thank goodness Jade moved to PA last year – I most definitely think it was meant to be! You’ll see what I’m talking about when you read their stories below!

The two of them are so looking forward to what the future holds, and to start planning for their wedding day!

Jade and Alex – I wish both you every happiness!! I’m BEYOND blessed that you reached out for engagement photos! I loved every moment of our time together!

How They Met

“I have always been the kind of person who believed that everything happens for a reason. I hold my faith higher than my doubt even if sometimes I let it fall a bit. But at one point in my life I had started to think that I was meant to be alone. I had accepted that I didn’t need someone else to be complete, and even if I wanted unrelenting love, it wasn’t a requirement for my happiness. I still believe that, but once you meet someone who changes things, you realize that even if you could live without that person, it sounds like a really lousy life.

For me, that person was Alex. In May of 2016, after living my whole 20 years of life in Texas, my parents, younger brother, and I moved to Pennsylvania for my mom’s new job. I left all of my extended family and bestfriends over 2,000 miles away. Within 2 months I had a job as a cake decorator at a Giant Food Store in Trexlertown. I loved the job. I have always been creative and I love to cook so it was a perfect fit, little did I know that something better was just around the corner. A few more months passed and one day my boss asked if I would be willing to move to closing shift because someone was leaving. I was hesitant to leave a job I loved so much but honestly I am too nice sometimes. So I said yes. Which would soon prove to be one of the better decisions i’ve made in my life.

Shortly after switching to nights I met Alex and Eric. The two co-workers who would be training me. Alex was the one I’d be replacing. Meeting the person who I would eventually consider the love of my life was like lighting a fire. Prior to moving the PA I had only had one other serious relationship that ended in a broken heart and anxiety. And after countless efforts to put myself back out there I had officially stopped looking for love. Until one day when I was working with the guys. I was traying up donuts and as I turned to grab another box, I saw Alex smile for the first time. His real smile. When he thinks something’s funny in the moment and isn’t trying to force anything. That was the spark. A few nights later I was working with Eric, I told him I liked his friend and asked if he would give him my number. Alex and I texted that whole week and set up a date for that Saturday. From the very beginning Alex and I were completely honest with each other. About what we wanted out of life and a relationship and about our pasts. I told him things other guys usually ran from that first week. But he stayed. And after that first date we both felt like this was something to hold on to. We knew we both wanted to make this work.

On August 21st, 2017, after going through being in a car accident, each of us changing jobs, the loss of one of my family members, and Alex being hospitalized, we celebrated our one year anniversary. After defying a lot together, we have stuck by each other though it all, with the ultimate goal of always being honest. I can’t even explain how having Alex has helped and changed me. He is my rock and best friend and I honestly believe he is my fate and my always.” – Jade

How He Proposed

“Jade has been the greatest person that I have ever met in my life. She is beautiful, fun, and smart. I knew from our first date that this relationship would be special, and I was right. I knew after a few months that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. On September 4th, 2016, I invited Jade to Knoebels amusement park, a place that I have been visiting for years with my family and relatives. I had only known her for a few weeks then, but it felt like a lifetime and I wanted to take her to this place that has meant so much to me. We had a great day together with my family. One year later, I proposed.

Last August, Jade and I were shopping at the mall and I had the spontaneous idea of finding out what style she liked for an engagement ring, having no idea that I would be buying our engagement ring that day. The ring stayed hidden in my closet for the next month. We have been in a relationship for a whole year, this proposal had to be special. She deserved it. I thought back to that day at Knoebels and I knew that I was going to asker her to marry me, and that it was going to be there.

We went back on September 9th, and had another great time. I had to hide the ring in my pocket the whole day, I couldn’t believe that I was going to propose that night. After going on rides, the last few hours were spent at the arcade and the park was closing. We rushed to go on the ferris wheel one last time and we were the last ones to get in line. Once we were on I knew that I was going to ask her any minute, I had to think of a way to sneak the ring out of my pocket. As fate would have it, the wheel went around and stopped at the top, leaving an incredible view of the park. With Jade’s head turned, I pulled the ring from my pocket. This was the moment we have been waiting, all I had to do was ask. She looked at me and smiled. I asked her: “Jade will you marry me?”. “Of course” she said. It was a great way to start our engagement.

Jade has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and I’m looking forward to our wedding, children, and everything else that life has to offer us.” – Alex
