Before Beth and Mike’s engagement shoot began, I knew that we were going to have a blast! Beth and I work together Monday through Friday – so we definitely already feel comfortable around each other (we see each other for almost 40+ hours a week!) – but I was so looking forward to spending time with her and her sweetheart, Mike! Beth and Mike are the most laid back couple I’ve ever met, especially with their wedding around the corner!! Well…OK…it’s 5 months away, but still – there is so much planning that I know I didn’t have done, that they totally have under control!

Their engagement shoot took place at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum in South Philly! If you’ve never been, you HAVE TO GO! I had NO idea that this park existed. There was green EVERYWHERE (which made this girl happy 😉 ), birds, lily pads, bright colors, golden light and a couple who is so deeply in love and excited to tie the knot in October! Also, they were complete naturals in front of the camera!! They specifically chose this location because Mike proposed to Beth on one of the bird watch landings in the park last December. Now, the two of them will always have a place to go to relive that day when Mike asked Beth to marry him (I’m a sucker for this kind of stuff)!!! I was over joyed to capture the excitement they felt on that day.

The forecast was calling for rain (which was really bumming me out because I was SO looking forward to this shoot); the rain sprinkled a little bit at the beginning of the shoot and went away. Yes! Yes! Woohoo!! Two and a half hours later (time flew by!) we now have some inside jokes (aka Mike really couldn’t part with his red Wegman’s bag LOL), we laughed, I did tear up a bit (you guys probably didn’t even notice! I was hiding it behind my camera!), and a friendship I’m so grateful for.
