Where do I even begin?! It took me multiple times to write this blog post because I’m overwhelmed by the love and strength that these two share within their relationship! If I could, I’d probably write pages upon pages about these two, but I’ll try to keep it brief! There were even times when I would forget that I was at their engagement session because it felt like I was just catching up with friends!
I first met Molly at my previous job and we were desk-mates, which was the best thing ever! Over the years working together, we became friends! Through that friendship, I had met Jake probably only two times, which now that I think about it, really is a bummer because he is the sweetest!
To me, their engagement session felt like a celebration of all they’ve overcome in the past months. It was a reflection of who they are, the love they share and the strength that’s so evident in their relationship.
I have asked Molly and Jake if it’d be OK for me to share their story in their blog post, and they were completely comfortable with me sharing this with all of you. Last fall, while Molly and Jake were on their way to tour their wedding venue they were involved in a very serious car accident. Although they both suffered very serious injuries, they both feel so fortunate to still be here and have expressed how excited they are to keep moving forward. From recovering from that accident and talking with Molly, she told me that they are even stronger as friends and life partners. It was very hard for them, and I’m sure it still is at times, but they got through everything together.
I’m sure if you’ve been to Chestnut Hill or attended a wedding in the Philadelphia area, you probably either have enjoyed the delicious ice cream or cake from Bredenbeck’s Bakery! Well, Jake’s family actually owns the bakery!! How awesome is that!? I still need someone to pinch me because I cannot believe it! Obviously, the bakery holds so many memories for the two of them and it’s such a huge part of their hearts and lives! It was only fitting that we had their engagement session at the bakery!
The weather was perfect, and actually the only day without rain the entire week – they definitely lucked out! We we ended their session by heading to Bredenbeck’s commercial bakery space to take photos of Molly and Jake doing a cake smash!! AHH! It was SO much fun! When Molly first mentioned this to me a while back, I thought this was the best idea!! The bakery had prepared a cake and succulent cupcakes for the occasion! Well, Molly and Jake didn’t hold back, and you’ll see what I’m talking about below! There was a ton of cake and flour tossed around! 🙂
Molly and Jake, thank you for your friendship and I cannot wait for your wedding at The Beaumont Inn next year!!!
How They Met
“We met through our best friends in college at Bloomsburg University. Molly was in an organization called Husky Ambassadors and became friends with Jake’s best friend through that club! In our senior year, we were ironically in buildings next to each other and started seeing each other every day. The rest is history!
The Proposal
“We booked a trip to Cancun with 7 of our best friends, on the third night on our way to dinner our friends all made excuses to be late, Jake took me on a walk on the beach next to the resort and asked. My best friend Shannon was following behind us taking pictures without me knowing the entire time which was so nice. When we walked back to the resort, instead of going to our dinner reservation, Jake had set up a private beach dinner and all our friends were standing around the table ready to celebrate. Best night ever. I had NO idea and everyone was in on it for months.”
