This was my second time photographing a wedding at Historic Stonebrook Farm, but my FIRST time photographing a wedding in the snow!! You all know how much I love snow, and I couldn’t have been more ecstatic that it was Susie and Jonathan’s wedding I was capturing!!
I had know Susie through our church’s young adult group, and when I was able to finally meet Jonathan in person, I was BEYOND excited!!
Susie always thought that she would have a spring wedding, but clearly that was not the case! 😀 She got married in the winter, in the snow, in 20+ degree weather!! When we would talk about the theme for her wedding, she would describe the theme as her “spring wedding in the winter!” Then when we heard it was going to snow on their wedding day, we couldn’t help but laugh because was, for sure, having a winter wedding! When it came time for portraits, they were up for ANYTHING, regardless that it was freezing outside!!
Jonathan and Susie have such an amazing story, and their ENTIRE day was full of joy and worship! I felt like I was an honorary bridesmaid by the Susie and Jonathan’s family and friends hugged, laughed and cried with me!
The two of them shared with me that they knew early on that God really was blessing them with one other, and He made it very clear that they should pursue a relationship! They recognized that this was His blessing and gift to them!! Throughout their engagement they would travel back and forth from PA to MD on weekends to visit each other. Much of the time was also spent with Jonathan’s kids, Rachel and Seth, who were VERY excited that their Dad was marrying Susie!!! 😀
The community that surrounds both Susie and Jonathan is truly a representation of how these two live their lives. Their wedding day was such a celebration of all that the Lord has done and will most definitely continue to do in their marriage! From Rachel helping Susie put on her shoes and earrings, to their Christ-centered ceremony, and to the family and friends who showered them in love at the reception…I could go on and on about this wedding day!
Susie and Jonathan describe their story as one of blessings and grace. Can it get any better than that?!
Susie and Jonathan, thank you, thank you, thank you! Your example of trusting in the Lord’s perfect timing and promises made such an impact on my life!! I hope you two had so much fun dog-sledding in Canada on your honeymoon!!

I LOVE this amazing photo of Susie and Rachel taken by my friend and second photographer, who is also named Rachel!!
