Oh, Jackie and Andrew!!! These two are seriously the sweetest and I had such a great time at their Longwood Gardens engagement session last week. Honestly my cheeks still hurt from smiling and laughing with them – I can’t imagine how theirs feel! Their entire session was spent just enjoying their time together and clearly one of their favorite things to do is laugh and have fun together!!!

Jackie and Andrew met at the University of Delaware’s marching band camp (no really, it WAS because of a band camp!). The two chatted a ton while they were on the field practicing and started finding each other after practice too. Once Jackie moved back to Delaware, they found their relationship quickly moved to the next level – and they weren’t mad about it! The two enjoyed many great date nights together before Andrew decided to propose to Jackie.

The whole proposal started out as a way to celebrate Jackie’s grad school graduation. Andrew wouldn’t tell Jackie anything despite her best efforts to find out what the celebration would be! After Andrew ran a race he unknowingly planned the same weekend, the two hung with some friends and relaxed. Jackie and Andrew left their friends to go to one of their favorite restaurants in Delaware. On the way, Jackie asked if they could stop by Cape Henlopen State Park and Andrew agreed (I wonder why!). On their way down to the water, Andrew handed Jackie a notebook to read full of old notes from when they were dating. Once they reached the water, Andrew asked if Jackie knew what day it was. Not one to miss her cue, Jackie responded with “It’s a great day for band!”, one of Andrew’s catchphrases. He, of course, agreed with her – but then added it was also a great day to be in love with her and kneeled down. Jackie immediately responded yes (a thousand times she told me!) and they were officially engaged!!

A Longwood Gardens Engagement Session

Despite the how humid it was our entire session, Jackie and Andrew managed to look amazing! Of course, it’s easy to look happy when you’re that in love with your partner!!! We had a great time exploring Longwood Gardens together for their session. If you’ve never been, you’ve definitely got to make a trip!! The conservatory is expansive and the gardens are just stunning! Even in the heat of the summer, they are beautiful!

I absolutely love both looks the two brought to their session! They were perfect and looked great against the neutrals of the start of the session. And by the fountains, Jackie’s navy dress popped perfectly!! There’s nothing about this session I didn’t love!!

What’s your favorite thing about Andrew?

“His heart. Andrew is hands-down the best guy out there. It doesn’t matter if he just met you, were friends for an eternity, or a colleague; Andrew will be there with a smile and whatever you need.”

What’s your favorite thing about Jackie?

“1. Her kindness. 2. Her laugh. 3. Her sense of fun.”
