A Summer Romance Inspired Wedding Shoot

The Manor at Makefield Highlands is new wedding venue located in Yardley, PA with historic charm and timeless elegance. The venue resides on an estate farm in Bucks County, PA dating back to the 1700s! Hello – this is my kind of venue!

Myself and local vendors had been planning this styled shoot since February! To me, it felt like we were actually coordinating a real wedding – I’m sure the entire vendor team would agree! To showcase this beautiful estate, we wanted to go BIG.

During this time of year, there are hills upon hills of tall, green and yellow grasses spread through out the property. Let’s just say this photographer was in her happy place because there were SO many locations to chose from for portraits! Ahhh! 😀

The day began with vendors arriving around 10:30am to start setting up! Alex, Banquet Sales Manager at The Manor, and Kristina of Kristina Wittig Event Coordination ensured that all of the table settings were in place! While the reception was being set up, Kelly from Bloom Flower Co. was assembling all of the florals for the day, in addition to the ceremony decor! The models arrived shortly after to start their hair and makeup with Underground Artistry and Love Salon!

I was taking detail shots of all of the bridal details including the invitation suite with Heather from Pretty Ink Press and Marnie of Marnie Lewis Jewelry! Josiah of Josiah and Steph Photography was present, as well, to capture the entire day through the eye of a videographer! How awesome is that!?! I could go on and on about all of these incredible creatives!!! 😀

Once the hair and makeup was complete, the bride and groom, in addition to the bridal party got changed into their attire!! This meant that the ceremony was about to start!

The ceremony took place right behind the Manor overlooking the golf course! It was absolutely breathtaking!!

Following the ceremony we right into the first dance and then into portraits during golden hour (oh my goodness, MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!) You don’t have to ask me twice!! 😀 And we got to ride on golf carts, too! Woohoo! I will admit, though, that I struggled a little bit, and was totally going probably 5 miles per hour (you can ask my sister!!)!! Let’s just say I’ll let someone else drive next time!

Through every pose, location and the entire day (we didn’t end until around 9:30pm! It was truly felt like a real wedding day!) the models were positive, completely flexible, and so much fun! I truly cannot thank them enough for spending their entire Sunday off with us! We really couldn’t have done it without you all!!

From start to finish, EVERY detail was thought of, the weather was SO perfect – even the unexpected thunderstorm! – and WE DID IT!! I think the majority of us celebrated by sleeping in the next day! It was a ton of work, my friends, but oh so worth it.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every individual who worked so, so, so hard to bring this vision to life. Who saw me in my sweaty, wedding glory and who still gave me big hugs at the end of the night.
