Today’s blog post is extra special because 1) my 2018 wedding season officially started and 2) I’m sharing Ali and Kevin’s Longwood Gardens engagement session with you all! Woohoo!! I’m sure you all are still reliving the incredible and impactful winter storm we recently had on the east coast – well, that storm ALMOST prevented us from going through with Ali and Kevin’s e-session, BUT thank goodness we were still able to do it!
Ali and Kevin are getting married next month, so it was crucial for us to find a location that had an indoor option, but still looked green and floral! Plus, with the weather we’ve been having lately, we all agreed that sounded like a great idea! I was so excited when these two suggested Longwood Gardens because I had only been there one time prior! This was their FIRST time, as well! The weather was very cold and windy, and these two were such troopers when I asked them to take some portraits outside – without their coats on! I think it was so worth it!
I first met Ali during my senior year in college – she transferred to Eastern University and she actually lived on my hall! Shortly after, Kevin made the switch to Eastern, as well, and, of course, since he was dating Ali we all got to know each other! I hadn’t seen them in over five years, so I couldn’t wait to soak up every moment of our time together! I was quickly reminded of how they are – individually and together – so full of life and love! You’ll see what I’m talking about as you go through the images below! We laughed a TON (these two are hilarious – you’ll see what I’m talking about below!), to say the least, and I cherished every moment with these two! I’m just so honored to be celebrating this very exciting season in their relationship! P.S. Below, I included two photos that they shared with me from when Kevin proposed to Ali at Disney! They are just so sweet!
As Told by Ali
How They Met
“We first met through a friend of Ali’s that was dating Kevin at the time. (So Ali was the “other woman”)(*wink wink*) (*JK but seriously) (Ali didn’t like Kevin but Kevin liked Ali) (HA!) Anyhooooo… It didn’t work out with Kevin and the other girl. (Yay) So the obvious next step was to hang out for the first time, at a Christmas party, where neither of us knew a single soul there. And of course, we went caroling. (Yay?) And after that night of horribly awkward singing, we both walked away from it wanting a little more. Thus began the months of friendship that ultimately turned into the craziest, stupidest, awesomest, and perfectest relationship this century has ever seen! (take that Kanye and Kim) …That pretty much sums it up. We love each other and we’ll always love each other. =D Long story short… Yay!”
How He Proposed
“We went to Disney World together as a way to celebrate our 5th anniversary. As you can see in our photos, we were taking pictures in front of the castle. With the Disney photographer clicking away, Kevin leaned in and said “I love you, Ali.” Ali smiled and through her teeth said “I know… just smile.” Then Kevin reached into his pocket, and said “I want to show you how much I love you” and bent down on one knee. At this point, a crowd had gathered around watching in anticipation. Before Ali could respond, a man jumped out of the crowd, encouragingly yelling out “YOU CAN DO IT!” So as to not disappoint him, or Kevin, Ali said yes, and then we went on Space Mountain.”
