2017-09-29_0024.jpgWhen Liz reached out to me to be her wedding photographer, I was BEYOND excited!! I had met her probably 1-2 times a year or two ago, but I knew her mom really well from my previous job! P.S. Liz and her mom are the sweetest EVER! I was so honored that she reached out, and I was looking forward to meeting her fiance, Andy, at their engagement session!

Liz and Andy are the sweetest and so fun to be around!! This country girl – meaning me 🙂 – doesn’t venture into the city much – so I had to ask them for assistance on where to park, preferred locations, etc.! They didn’t even hesitate to share their knowledge and parking tricks with me! Liz and Andy – I’m so grateful to you both! Andy works in center city, and many of their memories as a couple have been made in Philadelphia! You’ll read more about this below, but they have been together for seven years now, and were introduced to one another through a mutual friend during their sophomore year in college! Thank goodness for mutual friends!

We walked all along the Schuylkill River for their engagement session, and it was simply perfect! I had no idea there were so many beautiful spots with greenery, pretty purple flowers, and architecture along the river! As the sun started to go down, we headed to the front of the art museum to take a photo with City Hall in the background! Even though we had to wait for the traffic light to turn green for the cars to pass to get the shot, it was so.worth.it! We made it just in time as the sun was setting!

Liz and Andy – Thank you for showing me around the city you love so much!! I had so much fun with you two, and I’m so, so excited for your wedding next May! xoxo

As Told By The Bride-to-Be

How We Met

“Andy and I first met when we were sophomores in college, although we went to different schools. Andy’s childhood friend was a good friend of mine in college (and now he’s in our wedding party!) so we met when Andy visited him. Our paths crossed a few more times throughout the years, but it wasn’t until our senior year of college, when we were both at a party hosted by that same friend, that we hit it off.

We went on our first date a few weeks after that and now we’ve been together for 7 years! We’ve celebrated every birthday together (ours are only 3 days apart!), eaten lobster rolls in Cape Cod and beignets in New Orleans, spent summer weekends down the shore, graduated law school (that one was Andy), and we’re just about to move into our first house together. We’re excited for what’s next!”

The Proposal

“Andy knows me so well, and that was reflected through the perfect proposal he planned. We were headed to Ocean City, one of our favorite places, for a long weekend. The plan was to celebrate the end of my first year of graduate school, but little did I know, we’d be celebrating so much more that weekend! I’m hard to surprise, but I had absolutely no idea what Andy had up his sleeve.

On Friday morning after breakfast, Andy suggested we walk on the beach. A few minutes into our walk, I was sifting through shells when I turned around to find Andy down on one knee proposing! It was so sweet and the perfect moment.

We continued the celebrations with our families down the shore that weekend (which Andy had arranged!) and it was so fun. We’re getting married exactly one year after our engagement and can’t wait!”
