Oh my, my, my friends!! I’m SO excited to FINALLY share this fall creative inspiration shoot with you! Months ago, Kristina of Kristina Wittig Event Coordination had shared with me some exciting news! There was a renovated, historical wedding venue coming to the Princeton, NJ area called Updike Farmstead! Historical, barn wedding venues are MY FAVORITE and totally right up my alley! So, I was ALL in! This 18th century wedding venue sits on six acres of land, and is surrounded by corn fields and lush greenery! There is such creative opportunity for any bride planning her special day!
I was beyond excited to be a part of this shoot to showcase this new venue and to have the opportunity to work alongside such amazing creatives (featured below)!!

Kristina truly spearheaded the inspiration and styling behind this shoot, so I wanted to make sure I included her beautiful words in this blog post! I’m positive that you’ll fall in love with Updike Farmstead after reading from her how this shoot came about! 😀
“Falling in love with Updike Farmstead was something easy to do! This beautiful six acre property is one that catches everyone’s eye. The late 18th/early 19th century farmhouse welcomes you as you enter the property. A wagon shed, corn crib, three-bay garage and garden sheds surround the newly gorgeous refurbished barn which was built in 1892. With the potential this property offers, my creative fireworks were booming with inspiration.
As you stroll through the property you can feel the warmth and love in its natural state from the gorgeous windmill blowing in the wind to the stillness of the trees, cornfields, beautiful skies and meadows that seem to have no end. Since “falling” in love with this beautiful venue was easy to do, I knew Fall would be the best theme to capture!
Crushed Maroon, Midnight Navy with lots of greenery along with the perfect touch of gold was where this inspiration began. These gorgeous colors were carried throughout the entire shoot from floral, to cake and every detail in between.
Our model and Bride Taylor Mirable was sure to turn heads with this classy yet dramatic lace Lillian West wedding gown. The ivory chiffon a-line gown with lace bodice and sleeves added a dreamy and romantic vibe. The illusion V-neckline with lace appliques on the sleeves pulled the entire look together completed by its chapel length train. The bride’s bouquet, designed by Lauren of FLORA, was full with deep fall colors complimenting the natural tones of the barn and outside fields with endless greenery.”
To celebrate, YOU have the opportunity to see this gorgeous wedding venue for yourself!
