Alyssa and Michael’s engagement session took place at Princeton University, and my goodness it was out of this world! Their session was previously scheduled for earlier in February, but we had to reschedule due to a snow storm! I had been looking forward to meeting them, but had to wait just a few more weeks!

When we were searching for their session location, Alyssa had shared with me that she wanted their photos to have a similar feel to the theme of their wedding day! Their wedding is taking place at Park Chateau in the Fall, and the architecture at the university most definitely made a statement in their photos! When we found Princeton University, we knew it’d be the perfect backdrop for their photos!

Before we started, I had gotten to the campus earlier that day to scope out some locations! As I was walking around, I was blown away by the fact that this was even a college campus – everywhere I looked there was such beauty in the architecture around Princeton! It’s such a gorgeous town!! I couldn’t wait for Alyssa and Michael to arrive, so that I could give them the biggest hug and to start their session!

First, I want to share with you how these two met! They initially met online and it wasn’t too long after that that they had their first date enjoying dollar beers and tacos! I’m sure that Alyssa was laughing a bunch, since the two of them love to have fun and tell jokes!

About a year later, Michael had planned the most perfect proposal! Alyssa had no idea it was coming (way to go, Michael!) and it was such a special day for the two of them!

This is how it all started! They were spending the day together when Michael got a call from his sister saying that they needed to come quickly because she was having a “panic attack” – no worries, his sister is totally fine! Michael and his sister had to make something up so that Alyssa didn’t have any idea what was about to happen, especially since it was November and really cold outside!!

They drove over to Washington Rock State Park to see if his sister was OK, but actually she was there to take photos of the proposal! When they arrived, Michael asked Alyssa to marry him, and they spent the rest of the day celebrating the start of this new chapter in their lives! HOW SWEET?!

Getting to know them more at their e-session and learning about all the plans they have for their wedding got me SO EXCITED for the big day to finally arrive! Their family and friends mean the WORLD to them, and will be such a huge part of their wedding day!

They have such a loving and fun relationship, as well, and being able to capture this exciting season in their lives means so much to me! Even though we had windy, cold weather during their entire session AND Alyssa was in a dress (I still don’t know how she made it through!! She’s the best!), we were still laughing a bunch and having a ton of fun at the same time!! Couples who are willing to stand out in the cold for two hours to get incredible photos are my kind of people! 🙂

I’m so thankful for these two, and I’m so excited to share their engagement photos with you all! It was EPIC, and Alyssa and Michael look like MODELS! I still can’t get over Alyssa’s red dress! I cannot wait for their dream wedding at Park Chateau in the fall!
