Darcy and Ryan’s Morris Arboretum engagement session is on the blog today, and what better way to start off the week! This was actually my first time at the arboretum, and I cannot believe that I waited so long to visit! If you’ve never gone before, don’t wait as long as I did! The entire arboretum is stunning and there are TONS of beautiful photo locations! I was on cloud nine throughout their entire session!
We also had the most perfect weather, too! I’ve been loving this spring weather that we’ve been having this year, and we were fortunate enough to have a cool, spring evening for Darcy and Ryan’s session! Throughout college and law school, Darcy actually catered weddings at Morris, so she knew her way around SO well!
99% of time, I’m meeting my couples for the very first time at their engagement sessions, so we always start out with hugs, of course, because I’m a hugger! 🙂 After we hugged, the first thing that Darcy said to me was, “It feels like we already know you!” That made my heart so happy to hear – I had to hold back tears!! I love my couples so much and I care about the relationships I have with them a ton! Needless to say, this was the icing on the cake and the best way to start off our time together!
THEIR LOVE STORY
Darcy and Ryan met down the shore in Avalon through friends on Memorial Day Weekend. Darcy was in a shore house with her girlfriends for the summer, and went to a friend’s shore house nearby and met Ryan through mutual friends at that party.
Ironically, Avalon became the spot where they would meet AGAIN and go on their first date! Ryan asked Darcy out on a date when they ran into each other again in Avalon over Fourth of July weekend. They were both living in Center City, so the Thursday after Fourth of July they went out to dinner in Ryan’s neighborhood in East Passyunk and have been together ever since!
Then came the proposal a short few years later!
Darcy did a year-long clerkship for an Atlantic County Superior Court Judge and it was her last day of clerking. Over Labor Day weekend, she met Ryan after work at his parents shore house in Sea Isle and he proposed on the dock out back on the bay!! Ryan told Darcy he had to get crab traps out of the water (which should have raised Darcy’s suspicions, but she had no idea what was about to happen!). After the proposal, Darcy cried and that made Ryan cry! So sweet! Her parents were also down the shore that weekend, so they came over later and celebrated!
If you know Darcy and Ryan personally, you know that they are the sweetest couple, and make you feel like you’ve been friends for years! I’m already counting down the days until their wedding at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club in September!!
