Ilana & Patrick | A Fall Washington Crossing Historic Park Engagement

October 22, 2019

< back to blog home

Ilana and Patrick, you two are seriously so much fun!! I had a great time photographing Ilana and Patrick’s Washington Crossing Historic Park engagement session this month and I am so excited to share it with you all! We had an AMAZING time during their session, and their dogs Logan and Lady even came along with us too!

These two met briefly while they were in high school, but didn’t really speak much. However, thanks to the magic of Facebook, they kept in touch virtually. After college, they both wound up relocating to Conshohocken and lived about a block away from each other. Ilana and Patrick kept crossing paths while they ran errands and after Facebook told Ilana they had been “friends” for 7 years, she decided to reach out to Patrick. Before they knew it, they were head over heels into their relationship!

The Proposal

While sightseeing in Banff, the two reached an overlook at Peyto Lake. They were trying to take a photo but the sun was blinding Ilana. So, she closed her eyes and told Patrick to let her know when he took the photo. Imagine her surprise when she opened them at Patrick was down on one knee asking to marry her! Happily, she said yes and the two began to plan their wedding day for August 2020!

When I asked Ilana and Patrick what kind of location they wanted, we started talking about trees, water, and something that really said fall (and that they could bring the dogs to!). It wasn’t long before we settled on Washington Crossing Historic Park. The park is beautiful this time of year and was just perfect for their session. These two looked so cozy and in love the entire time. It really made my job so easy!! Ilana and Patrick, I had a great time with you (and Logan and Lady) and cannot wait for your big day!

What do you love about Patrick?

“His adventurous spontaneous side, he is the most giving person I know, and would give you the shirt off his back, and how motivating and encouraging he is. He is pushing me to be a better person and reach for the stars.”

What do you love about Ilana?

“Best cook I know, always fun when we’re out (we love to dance), she is a planner and I am not so… less decisions I have to make, and she just does a great job with everything she does so I have the utmost trust in her.”
