Being with Kelsey and Dylan was such a joyous occasion. They are all about the laughter and just having fun together – and I LOVE it!!! I was able to capture their Historic Stonebrook Farm engagement session last week and it was extra special because these portraits were taken almost one year after they got engaged. What a way to celebrate this last year!!
Kelsey and Dylan are high school sweethearts!!! You know how much I love that! They met during their gym class as juniors and realized they enjoyed being around each other. Given that they were still young when they met, their first date just kind of “happened”. Dylan said he didn’t think they really had one… and Kelsey said it was on Valentine’s Day! She told me that she hung onto library books she needed to return next to the grocery store Dylan worked at so she could see him. Either way, these two are SUPER cute and just perfect for each other!
After 8 years together, Dylan proposed when they were at home on Kelsey’s birthday. Before they went to meet her family for dinner, he told her to open her presents from him. She was going slowly so he told her that he wanted to help and asked her to close her eyes. The first gift was a houseplant. After that, she closed her eyes again and when she opened them, he was kneeling!!! He asked her to be his wife – and the ring was resting safely on the other plant he had for her. With lots of happy tears, she said yes!! Now, they’re planning a 2021 wedding for the Historic Stonebrook Farm and I can’t wait to be back, celebrating with them!
Historic Stonebrook Farm Engagement Session
I absolutely LOVE any time I get to work at the Historic Stonebrook Farm, so when Kelsey and Dylan let me know that their wedding would be there, I just knew we had to do their engagement session there too. It’s such a beautiful property and every session I do there winds up being so unique. We had a great time exploring, and thankfully got their session done before a big storm came through. Thank you for a great evening, you two!! I can’t wait to see you for your wedding day!
What Kelsey Loves about Dylan:
“His optimism – I can talk with him about anything – How he can make me laugh/smile even if I am very grumpy.”
What Dylan Loves about Kelsey:
“I love how much she makes me laugh. She’s super funny sometimes and doesn’t even try to be. I love how much she cares for and loves our cat, because I know she would do that for a future dog or future child. I also love that she pushes me to be a better person and to continue to grow physically, mentally, spiritually.”
