The moment that I met Lindsey I felt like I was meeting myself! OK – that might sound strange, but it’s the truth! The two of us have basically the same personality – we love to laugh and smile all day long! 🙂 When I met Jim and Lindsey at their engagement session, I knew right away that their wedding day was going to be nothing short of a celebration – my goodness it definitely was such an incredible day!
I was also so excited to be back at The Manor at Makefield Highlands, as well! This venue is GORGEOUS! There are tons of rolling hills throughout the golf course, a lake and an old manor that provided such a gorgeous backdrop for their photos! The weather was “fall” like too – clouds and cooler weather! They really had the perfect day!
Jim and Lindsey spent the early part of the day with their dearest family and friends! They all arrived to the venue with their hair and makeup done, so they could relax and start to soak in the anticipation of the day! While they were hanging out, I started taking photos of their details! Lindsey is very organized (a woman after my own heart!), and she had all of her details in a vintage suitcase all ready to go! I was blown away! The suitcase was fitting because they had a travel themed wedding!
Lindsey’s details were some of my favorite because many of her details had a story to tell! From having pieces of her mom’s wedding dress sewn into her dress to wearing Jim’s mother’s heart shaped necklace it was so amazing to hold and photograph these details in my hands! Jim’s mom passed away when he was little, and having Lindsey wear her necklace was emotional for me because it was such an incredible way to honor his mom!
Their day was special in so many ways, and I’m beyond excited to share it with you all!! 🙂
I don’t even think that I can put into words how amazing their first look was! They wanted their family and friends to be apart of their first look, and it was so neat to see their reactions too! Of course, Jim’s smile was the BIGGEST! The two of them were so excited to see each other – it was such an incredible moment to be apart of! You’ll see what I’m talking about below!
Following their first look we went right into portraits! The two of them left SO much time for portraits (45 minutes to be exact!!) – this made my photographer heart SO happy and it was SO worth it!!
For those of you who saw their engagement session, you know that Jim and Lindsey have a sweet English Bulldog named Oliver! He came to visit and joined us for some photos, too! It was such a perfect day, and everything that they could have hoped for!
Their ceremony was so beautiful! At The Manor at Makefield Highlands, the ceremonies take place nestled right next to the historic Manor, overlooking greenery! So stunning! All of their family and friends came from all over (even California!) to witness the start of Jim and Lindsey’s marriage! There were definitely some moments when I was tearing up, and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one!
Since Jim is in the Air Force and a commercial pilot, they had their guests throw paper airplanes like confetti once Jim and Lindsey were officially announced as husband and wife! I thought this was such an amazing idea!
As they walked down the aisle, Jim and Lindsey’s smiles only got bigger! They were finally husband and wife, and everyone was so ready to start the celebration!
Their reception was full of fun, and I haven’t seen that many people on the dance floor in a long time! Following their first dance, they shared special dances with their loved ones, and it was such an emotional moment!
The rest of the nights was full of such sweet toasts and non-stop dancing! Like I said, there was always someone on the dance floor! 🙂
Jim and Lindsey I adore you two!! Thank you both for being so kind, thoughtful and caring! I cannot imagine not having you two in my life! I’m so glad that I was able to capture such a special day in both of your lives, and I wish you all the happiness in the world!! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Reed!! 🙂
When I saw Lindsey’s dress, I was speechless! It was ivory, full of lace AND it had pockets!!

Lindsey’s sweet friend, Emily, designed their boarding pass wedding invitations!
This heart shaped necklace was Jim’s mother’s, and Lindsey wore it on their wedding day!

This is probably my favorite bridal portrait to date!!!
