I just couldn’t wait one more day to share this wedding with you all!! My sweet friends Meredith and Eric got married at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. this past Saturday, followed by a beautiful reception at the DACOR Bacon House! Can I just tell you that I think I still need someone to pinch me! Photographing in new places is always exciting for me because it challenges me to think outside the box! The two of them planned the most beautiful and elegant D.C. wedding, and I just couldn’t contain myself because I hadn’t seen Meredith and Eric in SO long!
I have actually known Meredith, specifically, for probably over four years now! We used to work together at my previous job! Seeing friends get married, in addition to being apart of their special day has been such a highlight for me! Before their wedding, I probably had only met Eric a handful of times, and watching him and Meredith interact all day was so amazing to see! These two love each other so much, and the look on Eric’s face during their first look…well, I have to forewarn you – it’s the sweetest expression EVER!!! I’m not lying when I say that that same smile stayed on Eric’s face all day! I think in that moment, too, they both realized that their long distance relationship was coming to an end!
Meredith and Eric met during their freshman year of high school, and started dating the summer in between their freshmen and sophomore years of college! Throughout their undergraduate careers, Eric would visit Meredith at George Washington University a bunch and they’ve been together ever since! Since Meredith attended GWU, and they both love the city, it was only fitting that her and Eric got married in a place that meant so much to the both of them!
Eric is proudly serving our country in the U.S. Navy, and while he has been living in South Carolina, he and Meredith planned their entire wedding while being in two different states! Not only were they hundreds of miles apart, but they also got engaged and married within the same year! I’d say they have some sort of wedding-planning superpowers! I’m so impressed with how they planned their perfect, intimate day in such a short amount of time! Even with distance being a factor, they thought of every single detail! 65 of their closest family and friends traveled to Washington, D.C. to celebrate the start of their marriage together!
Throughout their wedding day, there were tears as Meredith’s mom helped her get into her wedding dress, smiles as Eric saw Meredith as a bride for the first time, and laughter as they danced and celebrated with their wedding guests! Their wedding is one that I will always hold dear to my heart and never ever forget!!
Meredith and Eric, you two are about to start one of the most exciting adventures of your life! I’m so honored that I could celebrate with you both and be apart of your special day! There is no doubt in my mind that you two were created for one another, and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for you both! I love you guys so much!
